COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The San Diego State women's swimming and diving team swept its double dual meet on Saturday afternoon by defeating Cal State East Bay, 55-39 and host Colorado College, 62-32.
Sophomore Jamie Vessey and freshman Gina DiDomenico were both double winners as the Aztecs improved to 7-4 overall.
"I am really proud of how the girls swam today," said first-year head coach Mike Shrader. "Both Jamie and Gina had outstanding meets."
Vessey captured both the 200 free (2:01.28) and the 500 freestyle (5:30.81), while DiDomenico was a double winner for the first time in her collegiate career with first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:12.91) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.45).
Sophomore Kyla Power recorded a victory in the 50 free with a season-best mark of 25.30. Elsewhere, the Aztecs had top finishes from Brittany Daly (100 free, 56.93), Jessica Morrill (1000 free, 11:25.53), Christine Graham (100 breast, 1:09.77) and Brooke Vessey (100 back, 1:00.92).
Alexandra Rogers, Katie Smith, Ana Dowell and Brooke Vessey also combined to claim the 400 medley relay in a time of 4:06.29.
The Aztecs will return to the pool in their last regular season meet on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they host cross-town rival University of San Diego at the Aztec Aquaplex. The non-conference dual meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. PT.
