SAN DIEGO - The 10th annual Aztec Insider is set to take place Saturday, Feb. 24, inside Peterson Gym from 1-2 p.m. PST. The free event will be part of a host of activities happening on Montezuma Mesa and will give fans an opportunity to hear men's basketball head coach Steve Fisher, director of athletics Jeff Schemmel and football head coach Chuck Long talk about San Diego State athletics.
The festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Peterson Gym courtyard where concessions will be available. The program itself will begin with Fisher taking the stage at 1 p.m., followed by Schemmel at 1:10 and Long at 1:20. Also scheduled to appear are baseball head coach Tony Gwynn and softball head coach Kathy Van Wyk. The Insider will conclude at approximately 2 p.m.
In addition to the yearly event, the SDSU softball team will be playing host to the Aztec Invitational and will be taking on Siena at 11:30 a.m. and Oregon at 4:30 p.m. In between softball games, the women's tennis team welcomes Rice to Aztec Tennis Center for a noon match and at 3 p.m., the men's basketball team will play Brigham Young at Cox Arena. The day concludes at 6 p.m. when the baseball team takes on UC Riverside at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
Tickets to the men's basketball game are still available and can be purchased by visiting the Cox Arena box office or ticketmaster.com. The game is designated as San Diego Union-Tribune Youth and Family Day with upper baseline reserved tickets available for $10 with a minimum purchase of four or more and is subject to availability. Fans can also redeem their basketball ticket to gain free admission to the softball and baseball games.
