Aztec Basketball Plays Host To Navy Tuesday Following Break For Final Exams

-The Records: The Aztec women's basketball team resumes action after a 13-day break for final exams, when it entertains Navy Tuesday at Cox Arena at 7 p.m. SDSU, which is in the midst of a month-long homestand, held on to beat rival San Diego, 58-53, back on Dec. 5, to improve to 7-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 at Cox Arena in 2007-08. The Aztecs and Midshipmen meet for the second time overall and the first time since 2001, when SDSU handed Navy a 73-69 defeat in San Diego. Navy is currently 2-8 on the year, but plays at Marshall on Sun., Dec. 16, before heading out to America's Finest City.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the third year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 254-189 in 15 seasons, while she is 173-124 in her 10 previous campaigns at SDSU.

-Navy Head Coach Tom Marryott: Marryott is in his fifth season at Navy, boasting a school and career record of 52-74.

-Navy Series History: San Diego State claimed the only prior meeting between the two sides, beating Navy 73-69 on Nov. 25, 2001, in San Diego at Cox Arena.
