SAN DIEGO - San Diego State head volleyball Mark Warner today announced the signing of libero Courtney Miller to a National Letter of Intent for the 2008 season. The 5-4 defensive specialist recently completed her senior season at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas.

Miller was honored as a first-team all-district selection at the conclusion of the 2007 season, one of only three players chosen unanimously to that squad. She was named a Defensive Dandy by Prep Volleyball as one of the top high school defenders in the nation.

The team captain as a senior, Miller was named all-tournament and the top defensive player at the 2007 Austin ISD Tournament earlier this year. Her team finished the season with a mark of 23-3 (including a 20-match win streak), falling in the 5A Region 4 finals to the nation's second-ranked team (Austin Westlake).

As a junior, she was a second-team all-district honoree and also picked up all-tournament accolades at the Northeast Tournament.

Miller has also played for the Extec Volleyball Club the past several years. Her Extec team advanced to the USVBA Junior Olympic national tournament each of the past three seasons, finishing fifth in 2007.

Miller joins a trio of athletes who have committed to San Diego State and will begin play with the Aztecs in the fall of 2008. That threesome includes Colorado player of the year Lauren Van Orden (OH, Grandview HS, Aurora, Colo.) plus all-state volleyball honorees Paije Pearson (OH, Chandler HS; Chandler, Ariz.) and Kyley Sexton (S/OH, West Salem HS; Salem, Ore.).
