SAN DIEGO - San Diego State will play host to "A Night with the Aztecs" presented by Bledsoe Brace Systems on Thursday, Feb. 21, at Cox Arena beginning at 6 p.m. PT. "A Night with the Aztecs" will include appearances from Aztec head coaches and student-athletes. This fundraising event will include many wonderful silent and live auction items with proceeds benefiting the student-athlete scholarship fund for all 18 intercollegiate sports offered by SDSU.
"This event will be a fun-filled evening with coaches and student-athletes interacting with our very best fans, alumni and donors, while raising money for Aztec Athletics," said SDSU Director of Athletics Jeff Schemmel. "We want people to enjoy the night and feel great about their contributions to San Diego State."
Among the many items up for bid, the following is a sampling of items:
- Trip for two (2) to the Aztecs vs. Notre Dame football game in South Bend, Ind., on Sept. 6, 2008
- San Diego Padres suite tickets, food and beverages hosted by Athletic Director Jeff Schemmel and head football coach Chuck Long
- Dinner for six with head men's basketball coach Steve Fisher
- Dinner for eight at Jeff Schemmel's house with head baseball coach Tony Gwynn
- Private jet for a day trip
- A week stay in a private vacation home in Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii
These items plus many more unique opportunities!
Some legendary Aztecs scheduled to appear are football greats Willie Buchanon, Brian Sipe and Fred Dryer.
Ticket prices to attend "A Night with the Aztecs" are individually priced at $50 or $1500 for a VIP table with seating for 10. Food vendors scheduled to provide fare for the evening include Donovan's Steak and Chop House, Old Town Mexican Café and L&L Hawaiian Barbeque.
