SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's basketball and head coach Beth Burns will be featured at Sports at Lunch on Thursday, Dec. 20, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum in Balboa Park. Burns will be joined by Geno Auriemma, a 15-time national coach of the year, who has won five NCAA titles, in the first-ever Sports at Lunch headlined by women's sports.

Burns has directed the Aztecs to a 7-1 record thus far in 2007-08, her third year of her second stint on Montezuma Mesa. In 2006-07, she led the Aztecs to the program's most wins since 2000-01, including five in league action for the biggest turnaround in Mountain West Conference history. Under her direction, San Diego State was the 11th-most improved team in the country.

In her first tenure at SDSU from 1989-97, Burns led the Aztecs to four NCAA tournament appearances, three regular-season conference titles and two conference tournament championships.

Auriemma, meanwhile, entered the year with an 83.8 winning percentage in 22 seasons as a head coach, directing his team to five national championships, including three straight from 2002-04. His team is currently undefeated and ranked No. 2 nationally.

Check-in begins at noon at the Hall of Champions, with the program getting underway at 12:30 p.m. Tickets for Sports at Lunch are $32 for Hall of Champions members, $40 for non-members in advance and $45 at the door. The HOC is a non-profit 501c(3) organization and tickets are tax deductible.
