SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego State senior Kraig Chiles (San Diego/Poway HS) has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Second Team. Last week, Chiles earned first-team all Pac-10 honors.
Chiles led the conference in shots (62) and was second with 20 points. In addition, the co-captain finished third in goals (eight) and in a tie for fifth with four assists and two game-winning goals. He also led the 2007 Aztecs in games started (19), goals (8), points (20), and shots on goal (26).
This season, Chiles was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Sept. 24 and again on Oct. 15. The Pac-10 Player of the Week on two occasions, Chiles was selected as the College Soccer News National Player of the Week on Oct. 15. He was also named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week (Oct. 16), College Soccer News National Team of the Week (Oct. 15) and was picked for the Soccer Post/Aztec Classic all-tournament team.
San Diego State finished in a tie for second place in the Pac-10 with a 4-4-2 league record and 8-8-4 overall, its second consecutive runner-up finish, after being picked fifth in the preseason poll.
