Unbeaten San Diego State Faces Undefeated Fresno State in World Vision Classic Finale 
San Diego State (2-0), unbeaten in its first two games, will look to make it three straight Sunday afternoon against an undefeated Fresno State team (2-0) in the final game of the World Vision Classic in Fresno, Calif.
Game time at the Save Mart Center is set for 4 p.m. PT and can be heard on AM 600 KOGO. Ted Leitner will call the play-by-play. There is no television coverage for the contest.
The Aztecs will be looking for their second consecutive 3-0 start and will be searching for their second in-season event title in as many seasons. A win on Sunday will also be SDSU's sixth in-season event crown as a Division I school.
A 3-0 start will also mark just the eighth time in SDSU`s time as a Division I insititution that it will have started a season with three straight wins and the first time it will have done it two years in a row.
On Saturday, San Diego State continued to put defensive pressure on its opponent for the majority of the game and emerged with the 78-64 win over Portland. The victory marked the first time an Aztec team started a season 2-0 in consecutive seasons since the 1994-95 and 1995-96 campaigns.
For the second game in a row, SDSU was led by Kyle Spain. The junior led all scorers with a career-high tying 22 points and a team-high eight rebounds. For the season, the Aztecs are 2-0 and 18-2 in his career when he scores in double figures.
Classmate Lorrenzo Wade added 18 points, while Tim Shelton had 12 and Kelvin Davis recorded 10. Shelton and Davis' point totals were career bests.
For the second straight game, freshman Billy White came off the bench and provided a spark with eight points and five rebounds. His effort came a day after the Las Vegas, Nev., native went for 13 points and seven rebounds vs. Liberty.  
Fresno State, meanwhile, comes into the contest as the field's other undefeated team. On the first day of their tournament, the Bulldogs defeated Portland behind a 13-for-26 three-point shooting exhibition and pulled away from Liberty in the second half to post a 71-62 victory.
In addition to pitting the field's two undefeated teams against each other, the game will mark the 100th meeting between the two old Western Athletic Conference members. In a series that dates back to 1940, San Diego State owns a slim 51-48 advantage. The 99 previous get-togethers represents the most meetings the Aztecs have ever had against any one opponent.
Sunday's game is the first between to the two state universities since Dec. 8, 2001, when the nationally ranked Bulldogs visited Cox Arena. That day, SDSU defeated No. 21/16 Fresno State, 93-78, to snap the Bulldogs' 10-game series winning streak.
