-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team kicks off its 2007-08 campaign on the road for the third time in the last four seasons, as the Aztecs travel to Reno, Nev., to face the Nevada Wolf Pack Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Lawlor Events Center. SDSU is opening its season against Nevada for the second year in a row, as the Wolf Pack won last year's outing in San Diego, 68-62.
The Aztecs are coming off an 85-67 victory over Love and Basketball, a team of former college players, on Thursday at Cox Arena. Nevada, meanwhile, has already gotten its feet wet with a 62-51 win over visiting Santa Clara on Friday evening.
-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the third year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 247-188 in 15 seasons, while she is 166-123 in her 10 previous campaigns at SDSU.
-Nevada Head Coach Kim Gervasoni: Gervasoni is in her fifth year as head coach of the Wolf Pack, boasting a school and career record of 42-80. She is 2-1 all-time against the Aztecs.
