LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The UNLV volleyball team exacted a measure of revenge on San Diego State as it defeated the Aztecs in four games Friday night at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. After San Diego State won the opening game in convincing manner, the Rebel's offense took over and dominated the second contest. The third game was the closest of the four in the match, with the score tied at 28-28 before the home side claimed a two-point victory. In the fourth contest, UNLV slowly pulled away after the score was tied at 16-all, going on to secure the match with an eight-point win.
The final numbers showed Rebels holding the advantage in almost every statistical area. They hit .254 for the match compared to .148 for SDSU, even after the Aztecs out-hit them .316 to .145 in the opening game.
