Senior Kraig Chiles (San Diego/Poway HS) scored the game-winning goal in the 109th minute to lift the San Diego State men's soccer team to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Drake Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nev. It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Aztecs (4-2-1), who were declared the champions of the UNLV Tournament after posting a 2-0 record.

Chiles' goal came from eight yards out at the 108:24 mark off assists from freshman Raymundo Reza and sophomore preseason All-American Nick Cardenas. The goal, Chiles' second of the season, was one of five shot attempts for SDSU in the second overtime. The Bulldogs (4-3-1) did not get a shot off in the second overtime session.

San Diego State got on the scoreboard in the seventh minute when sophomore Jamel Wallace (San Diego/Oceanside, Calif.) tallied his second goal in as many games. Wallace, who has a team-leading three goals this year, scored off junior Omar Persad's original shot to give the Aztecs the early lead.

Drake's Calvin Clark tied the game at 1-1 in the 71st minute off a scramble in front of the net from a corner kick. The ball was thought to have been cleared off the line by junior Dennis Sanchez, but was ruled a goal by the linesman.

The Aztecs had six of the final seven shots in the game and owned a 7-2 shot advantage in the two overtime sessions.

Freshman Khadim Diouf led the SDSU offense with four shots, while Chiles (three shots) and Persad (two shots) each had multiple attempts at the net.

Freshman goalkeeper Brad Byrns made five saves in net to improve to 4-1-1 on the season.

San Diego State plays host to nationally ranked UC Irvine at 2 p.m. Tuesday before beginning the Pac-10 portion of its schedule on Oct. 6 against UCLA.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Sophomore Jamel Wallace earned Man of the Match honors for the second straight game for his solid play from both the front and back. Wallace got the Aztecs on the board in the seventh minute with his second goal in as many games. He then moved to the back to help slow down the Drake attack, securing SDSU the UNLV Tournament championship.
