Aug. 29, 2007

The 24th in a daily series during fall camp, get to know freshman, defensive lineman Michael Snead.

GoAztecs.com: How was your experience at Aztec Family Day?
Snead: It was a good experience. My family wasn't able to make it, but it was really fun getting to play at Qualcomm Stadium for the first time.

GoAztecs.com: How were your first couple days of classes?
Snead: I can't complain. My classes went pretty well. I was able to meet my teachers and get to see the guidelines and expectations they have for us.

GoAztecs.com: If you weren't playing football, what sport would you be playing?
Snead: I would probably play basketball or run track. I played basketball in high school and I did a lot of track drills to train for football.

GoAztecs.com: What type of music do you like?
Snead: I am definitely a rap and R&B person. I'm from Oakland, Calif., so I mainly listen to Bay area music.

GoAztecs.com: How did you spend your summer before coming to San Diego?
Snead: I spent most of my summer working out. Probably 95 percent of my time was dedicated to training before I came down to San Diego. I socialized a little bit, but not as much as I probably should have.

GoAztecs.com: If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be and why?
Snead: I would like to go to Brazil. I have heard nothing but great things from everyone that I know who has been there. I just think it would be a pretty good voyage.

GoAztecs.com: Do you have a favorite professional team?
Snead: My favorite NFL team is the Oakland Raiders. I am also a fan of the Oakland Athletics and the Golden State Warriors.

GoAztecs.com: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Snead: I like to hang out with friends, play video games and go to the movies, but since I've been at camp, my tendencies have changed a little. I find myself sleeping more than normal now.

GoAztecs.com: Who is the comedian on this Aztec football team?
Snead: I would say the defensive line as a whole. We're a group of pretty funny guys.

GoAztecs.com: What will you be majoring in at SDSU?
Snead: I went with political science, but I have a feeling I will end up majoring in business management. I would like to open up a few restaurants after I graduate.
