SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's basketball head coach Steve Fisher announced Monday the addition of Bryan Horton and Jason Deutchman to the 2007-08 roster. Horton will be eligible to play this season, while Deutchman, a transfer from Wisconsin-Milwaukee, must sit out the upcoming campaign due to NCAA transfer rules.

Horton joins the Aztec squad after completing his prep career at Canyon High School in Anaheim, Calif. A 6-3 all-conference guard, Horton helped the Comanches to a 20-8 (9-1 Century League) record his senior season, while averaging 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Horton also recorded 13 double-figure scoring games and two double-doubles as a senior en route to earning a spot on the PlyoCity All-Star Team in Orange County. During the recruiting process, Horton received interest from UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly, Columbia, Illinois State, Navy and UC Riverside.

Deutchman, a native of Los Angeles, comes to SDSU as a 6-6 guard after spending one season at Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a walk-on. A graduate of Santa Monica High School, Deutchman led the Ocean League in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots as a senior. He also finished the 2005 campaign ranked No. 2 in three-point shooting and steals and fifth in assists. After averaging 17.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in his final season, Deutchman was voted the team's most valuable player. Deutchman will have three years of eligibility left beginning with the 2008-09 season.

With the addition of Horton and Deutchman, both of whom are walk-ons, the Aztec roster grows to 14 players.
