SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team logged its third two-a-day of 2007 fall camp on Tuesday at its on-campus facility. The workout was the Aztecs' fifth-straight day of practice and paves the way for only its second day off since reporting to Montezuma Mesa on Aug. 10.

""We had a good day of practice today, on offense in particular," said SDSU head coach Chuck Long after the second workout. "The defense also had a nice day in certain periods. Overall, both sides of the ball played really well.

"We ended the day with a scrimmage between our young guys, which creates a lot of energy and enthusiasm. We're trying to get these young guys ready to play as quickly as possible."

SDSU spent the majority of the two-hour morning session on the turf field, with underclassmen Kelsey Sokoloski and Ryan Lindley taking most of the snaps behind center to end the workout.

The afternoon's two-hour practice took place in slightly cooler temperatures than in previous days. The Aztecs ran through punt coverage, followed by position drills and extensive 11-on-11 action on the far side of the grass practice field.

Following tomorrow's day off, the Aztecs will be on the field twice Thursday for its final two-a-day of 2007 fall camp. SDSU has a single workout Friday afternoon and the annual Family Day Scrimmage at Qualcomm Stadium, beginning at 2 p.m., on Saturday.
