The ninth in a daily series during fall camp, get to know freshman, wide receiver Vincent Brown.
GoAztecs.com: What did you do yesterday, since it was your first off day since the start of fall camp?
Brown: I woke up and then met with the team to eat breakfast. Later in the day, coach took us all to La Jolla and we spent some time at the beach just relaxing, having a good time and getting to know everyone on the team.
GoAztecs.com: What have you enjoyed most about San Diego so far?
Brown: I have enjoyed the football team, of course. Also, just the people out here are really nice. It's a great community and a great place to live.
GoAztecs.com: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Brown: I like to sing and play the drums and just hang out with friends.
GoAztecs.com: Do you have a favorite NFL team?
Brown: I am a Chargers fan because they are the local team.
GoAztecs.com: If you weren't playing football, what sport would you want to be playing?
Brown: I would be playing basketball because it kind of goes hand-in-hand with football.
GoAztecs.com: Did you play basketball in high school?
Brown: I played my freshman year, but it was pretty hard doing both sports at the same time, so I chose to focus on football.
GoAztecs.com: Why did you decide to choose football over basketball?
Brown: I just liked football better. It was more fun for me than playing basketball.
GoAztecs.com: How did you spend your summer before coming to SDSU?
Brown: I spent the time with all of my friends from high school. I had some teammates that signed with different schools, so we spent a lot of time just hanging out together at the beach or the movies.
GoAztecs.com: One of your high school teammates (defensive back) Deon Ford ended up going to Washington State. What are you looking forward to about going up against a former teammate in your first collegiate game?
Brown: I'm just looking forward to going out there and competing. Deon is a friend of mine, so of course we'll go out there and compete against each other, but we'll still be friends after the game.
GoAztecs.com: If you could pick any opponent in the nation to play against, who would it be and why?
Brown: It would probably be UCLA, for a lot of reasons. They're just a really good football team and I look forward to playing them someday.
GoAztecs.com: Do you know what you want to study at San Diego State?
Brown: Yes, I am a business administration major.
GoAztecs.com: Do you have career aspirations in that field?
Brown: Probably. I am not 100 percent sure yet on what I want to do with my major.
GoAztecs.com: How do you prepare for a game?
Brown: I just try to focus on what I have to do for the team and make sure that I am ready to go at game time.
