The eighth in a daily series during fall camp, get to know sophomore transfer, defensive lineman Ryan Williams.
GoAztecs.com: How was your first week of camp?
Williams: It has been a lot of fun. The guys are out here working hard everyday. I've only been here for five days, but it seems everyone is coming together really well and we're starting to see a lot of enthusiasm. All of the guys are hungry to win this season.
GoAztecs.com: What was your most memorable high school football moment?
Williams: Winning the CIF championship my senior year (at Mission Viejo High) was probably the best time of my life.
GoAztecs.com: Do you have a favorite NFL team?
Williams: Yes, the Chargers are my favorite team. I've always been a (Chargers) fan.
GoAztecs.com: If you could meet any professional athlete, who would it be and why?
Williams: Brett Favre, because I think he is one of the best and toughest players in the NFL.
GoAztecs.com: If you weren't playing football, what sport would you be playing?
Williams: If I weren't playing football, I would want to be snowboarding. I would love to be a professional snowboarder.
GoAztecs.com: If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be and why?
Williams: I have always wanted to go to Europe. I don't know why, but I've just been fascinated with its culture and I'd like to go visit someday when I'm finished with college.
GoAztecs.com: What do you like to do in your free time?
Williams: In my free time I try to hang out with my friends from high school because I am really close with them. I also like to go snowboarding, paintballing and going to the beach.
GoAztecs.com: What are you planning on studying at San Diego State?
Williams: I am majoring in political science.
GoAztecs.com: Do you have career aspirations in that field?
Williams: I'm not really positive what I will do with my degree yet. I might go to law school or something else, but we'll see.
GoAztecs.com: Why did you choose to come to SDSU?
Williams: I really liked the coaches. I knew Coach Long when he was at Oklahoma and he was recruiting me out of high school. I also wanted to be somewhere closer to home.
GoAztecs.com: How do you prepare for a game?
Williams: I'm usually really quiet before games. I like to listen to music and just relax.
