SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior libero Aime Cordeiro (West Hills HS, Santee, Calif.) has been named to the 2007 preseason all-Mountain West Conference volleyball team in a vote conducted among the league coaches.
An all-conference selection in 2005, Cordeiro led the MWC in digs last year with an average of 5.46 per game. In league play, her mark of 5.08 digs per game ranked second. Her total of 573 digs during the 2006 campaign is a San Diego State record and she is within striking distance of setting the Aztec career mark this fall as well.
In other volleyball news, San Diego State has been picked to finish sixth in the Mountain West Conference in 2007 in a poll conducted among the league coaches and selected media. Defending champ Brigham Young was chosen to defend its title while Colorado State was named runner-up.

The Aztecs' meeting with UNLV in Las Vegas on Friday, Oct. 19, will be shown live on The Mtn. at 7:00 p.m. (PDT). In addition, SDSU's contest at Brigham Young on Friday, Nov. 16, will be televised live on BYUTV and will be streamed over the Internet at www.byutv.org. The match may be seen on a tape-delayed basis on The Mtn. on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 4:00 p.m. (PST).
The Mtn. will also carry the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship contest of the 2007 MWC championship tournament to be held in Las Vegas Nov. 21-24. All of those matches will be televised live with the exception of the second semifinal on Friday, Nov. 23, which will be tape-delayed one hour.
