Meet The Aztecs: Q & A With Logan KetchumMeet The Aztecs: Q & A With Logan Ketchum

Aug. 11, 2007

The second in a daily series during fall camp, get to know another Aztec newcomer, freshman linebacker Logan Ketchum.

Goaztecs.com: How have your first couple days of camp gone?
Ketchum:
It was really good, the guys are really nice. Russ Allen and Freddy Dunkle are trying to get me some reps and let me know what's going on. Coach Elliott, he's been a good help with watching films and pretty much today we were just putting stuff in that we already learned in the film room.

Goaztecs.com: What has been your favorite and least favorite part of camp so far?
Ketchum:Least favorite part would probably be eating the cafeteria food. Favorite part I would have to say, since we've only been here two days, was the barbeque. It was pretty fun, plus seeing my parents.

Goaztecs.com: What do you like best about San Diego so far?
Ketchum:
Just the atmosphere. We're trying to turn this thing around down here and you can tell the guys are pretty fired up about it. So, it's a fun atmosphere in the locker room and on the field and the guys are nice, so it makes it a good atmosphere for me.

Goaztecs.com: What will you miss most about being at home?
Ketchum:
My mom's cooking.

Goaztecs.com: What is your favorite meal?
Ketchum:
It sounds pretty easy to make, but (my mom) prepares this in a good way. It's grilled cheese and some chicken noodle soup, which is always great.

Goaztecs.com: What is your most memorable football moment?
Ketchum:
Probably starting in the CIF championship game my sophomore year with my brother, who is two years older than me.

Goaztecs.com: What are you planning on studying at SDSU?
Ketchum:
Either communications or business.

Goaztecs.com: Do you have career aspirations in either of those fields?
Ketchum:
I'd like to go into commercial real estate.

Goaztecs.com: It says in your bio that Tom Selleck is your uncle. How exactly are you related and what has it been like growing up with a famous uncle?
Ketchum:
He is my mom's brother. It's cool. It's not that weird for me to see him on TV. He's a really nice guy, so he's just like a regular uncle to me. People talk about him and ask me questions about him, but it's kind of getting to be normal now.
