Meet the Aztecs: Q&A With Ryan LindleyMeet the Aztecs: Q&A With Ryan Lindley

Aug. 10, 2007

SAN DIEGO - Ryan Lindley, a freshman quarterback from Alpine, Calif. took some time after the first day of fall camp for a Q&A session.

Goaztecs.com: How was your first day of camp?
Lindley: I knew it was going to be a little tough, but I don't think it's a good thing if it isn't (tough). We're all working pretty hard out here and just going over everything we've learned during the summer. It's a really good start and we have a lot of high hopes for this season.

Goaztecs.com: What has been your favorite and least favorite part of your experience so far?
Lindley: I would say one of the best things has been being able to get closer to the guys in the dorms.

Goaztecs.com: You and (offensive lineman) Tommie Draheim went to the same high school. How has it been having a high school teammate here with you?
Lindley: It's really cool. Not many people get to do that, so it's definitely an opportunity that we're taking advantage of. I know Tommie's working hard and I'm working hard. It's definitely going to be exciting to see what happens in the future.

Goaztecs.com: What has been your most memorable football moment?
Lindley: Probably just all of last year. Playing in high school my senior year, we had such a good team and we were so tight. The bond that we had was great. I'm hoping we can build on that this year and have a great season.

Goaztecs.com: Why did you choose San Diego State?
Lindley: It's right here at home, so if I need to I can go home because it's only 20 minutes away. I also kind of like the stage the program is at right now. They're in a rebuilding stage and I want to help turn it around and get things started.

Goaztecs.com: Being from the San Diego area, what is your favorite part about the city?
Lindley: You can take your pick. You've got the beach and you've got just so many other things to do. I haven't even tapped into the Gaslamp (District) since I'm not of age yet, but that's definitely something I'm looking forward to (exploring). There's just so much stuff to do and that's part of the reason I wanted to stay around, because I don't want to miss out on any of it.

Goaztecs.com: Have you seen any good movies this summer?
Lindley: No, actually I haven't been watching any movies this summer.
