AZUSA, Calif. - San Diego State's Kristin Olafsdottir moved up from her day-one finish of ninth place to seventh on the final day of the Mt. SAC Heptathlon on Thursday in Azusa, Calif. The sophomore finished the two-day event with an NCAA provisional qualifying effort of 5,178 points and was fifth among collegiate competitors.
After completing four of the seven events on Wednesday, Olafsdottir began the afternoon by competing in the long jump where she leaped 18 feet, 1 inch.
Later, Olafsdottir completed a distance of 110 feet, 5 inches in the javelin throw and wrapped up the competition with an 800-meter run time of 2 minutes, 18.17 seconds.
SDSU returns to the track tomorrow, Friday, April 13, when the running events of the 49th annual Mt. SAC Relays will take place. Competition will move from Azusa to Walnut, Calif., and will open with the 400 at 2 p.m. PDT.
