FULLERTON, Calif. - The San Diego State softball team gave up four runs in the first inning and left 10 runners on base in a 7-0 loss to Texas Tech at the Worth Invitational Saturday night in Fullerton, Calif. The Aztecs (10-8) won their earlier game in the day, 8-3, over Cal Poly.

Texas Tech (13-7) got four runs in the first on an RBI single by Whitney Riley and a three-run homer by Jennifer Bowers. The Red Raiders added three more in the fifth on two singles and an SDSU error. All three runs, however, were unearned as the San Diego State had two miscues in the inning.

Sophomore Monica Alnes (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) gave up just one hit while striking out two over the final two frames.

In SDSU's earlier game, the Aztecs scored six runs in the first inning en route to an 8-3 victory over Cal Poly. The big inning was highlighted by a pair of two-run singles by sophomore Sidoti and senior Amanda Beasley (San Diego/Mount Miguel HS).

Floros drew a bases loaded walk in the second and sophomore Kasey Mytinger (San Diego/West Hills HS) followed with an RBI single to left field for San Diego State's other runs.

Owens went 2-for-3 to lead SDSU, which had nine hits in the game, and seven others added one hit apiece.
