The San Diego State women's golf team slipped one spot to 16th place after carding a final round 313 Tuesday at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational in Fresno, Calif. The Aztecs ended the two-day event at 56-over 632 and got bumped from their 15th place slot despite improving their first-round score by six strokes at the par-72, 6,072-yard Copper River Country Club.

Host Fresno State rallied to claim the team title over day one leader UC Irvine by two strokes, after posting a 297 in the final 18 holes for a tournament-best 20-over 596. Long Beach State's Kay Hoey edged Colorado's Lindsay Clajouw by one for medalist honors with a 2-over 146, including a 72 in final day action.

San Diego State's top finisher was senior Jamie Oliver (Los Alamitos, Calif.), who overcame a rough start to end up with a second-round 77 for a 9-over 153, which was good for a 21st place tie. Oliver had five bogeys and one double-bogey in her first nine holes, but battled back with three birdies on the back nine.

Sophomore Alana Erlandson (Palm Desert, Calif.) matched Oliver's 77 with one of her own to end up tied for 51st place at 13-over 157. Classmate Jackie Kazarian (Dana Point, Calif.) fired an 8-over 80 for the second straight day to tie for 71st, while sophomore Maki Kamimura (West Covina, Calif.) improved her day one score by five strokes with a 7-over 79, tying for 81st overall.

Junior transfer Kim Carmody (Palatine, Ill.) rounded out the Aztec lineup in 87th place with a 24-over 168, including an 85 in the final 18 holes..

San Diego State takes a few weeks off before heading to its first 54-hole tournament of the spring, March 12-14, at the UNLV Spring Invitational in Boulder City, Nev.
