HEADLINES
* - This is SDSU's first victory over a nationally-ranked team since knocking off 21st-ranked Fresno State (93-78) on Dec. 8, 2001. The victory snaps a 10-game losing streak against nationally ranked competition.
* - The win over 15th-ranked (AP) Air Force, marks the highest team SDSU has defeated since handing seventh-ranked Brigham Young an 82-80 overtime loss on Feb. 18, 1988.
* - The 21-point margin of victory is the largest over a ranked opponent in school history. The previous high was the 15 point margin of victory over Fresno State in 2001.
* - The 41 points given up by the Aztecs are the fewest allowed in SDSU Mountain West Conference history. The previous record was 43 points allowed to Air Force on Jan. 20, 2001. It is also the fewest given up in SDSU Cox Arena history.
* - San Diego State improves to 16-7 overall, matching its best record after 23 games since the 1984-85 squad opened 18-5. The 23-game record this season is exactly the same mark SDSU had after 23 games last season when the Aztecs went on to win a Dvision I era school-record 24 victories. * - The Aztecs have won three straight games, its' longest winning streak since winning eight consecutive games to open the season.
* - San Diego State improves to 11-2 at home this season and 24-4 at Cox Arena since the beginning of the 2004-05 campaign.
* - This marked the fifth consecutive game that San Diego State has held an opponent to less than 40 percent field goal shooting.
* - SDSU allowed just 16 first-half points. That is the second lowest point total surrendered by an Aztec squad this season. San Diego State gave up just 14 points in the first half of the Nov. 19th game against UC San Diego.
* - Air Force went 0-for-8 from three-point range in the first half marking the first time the Falcons had failed to score a three-point goal in a half this season.
Jerome Habel
The junior continued his excellent play against the Flacons... In his first career game against Air Force, at the Academy last month, Habel scored 15 points, on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, and added five rebounds. Tonight, he posted ninth double-figure scoring game this season and his ninth contest with at least seven rebounds.
Mohamed Abukar
Abukar posted his third straight double-figure scoring game and the 19th this season.... He also shot above 50 percent from the field for the 11th time this season.
Brandon Heath
Heath posted his 48th straight game with 10 or more points... The Aztecs improve to 12-1 this season when Heath attempts at least four free throws in a game.
