INDIANAPOLIS - San Diego State senior goalkeeper Tally Hall (Gig Harbor, Wash./Gig Harbor HS) has been selected by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the fourth round of the 2007 Major League Soccer Draft, held Friday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Galaxy, who went 11-15-6 in 2006, narrowly missing the playoffs, recently made news around the world with the signing of former England captain and Manchester United star David Beckham.

The Galaxy chose Hall, one of four goalkeepers and one of four Pac-10 players selected in the draft, with the 44th pick. Hall becomes the first Aztec chosen in the MLS Draft since Ted Chronopolous (fifth round) was picked by the New England Revolution in 1996. Last year, former SDSU standout Matt Couch was selected in the fourth round by the Galaxy in the MLS supplemental draft.

Hall, a two-time NSCAA and College Soccer News All-American, went 9-5-4 with a 1.04 goals against average and 80.0 shots-on-goal save percentage this season. In Pac-10 play, Hall was even better, going 5-1-3 and leading the conference in shutouts (four), goals against average (0.72) and shots-on-goal save percentage (0.72).

A semifinalist for the 2006 M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, Hall was a first-team all-Pac-10 honoree for the second straight season.

Hall was named Co-Most Valuable Player of The Soccer Post/Aztec Classic and later garnered all-tournament accolades at the USD/San Diego State Soccer Classic. On Sept. 26, he was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week for the first time in his career and on Oct. 2 he was selected to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

In early December, Hall spent a week in Sweden training with Swedish top flight bronze medalists Hammarby IF.
