WITH THE SAN DIEGO STATE VICTORY...

* SDSU improves to 4-0 all-time in conference tournament finals, including 2-0 in MWC history. * The No. 1 seed claims the MWC championship title for just the second time in the league's seven-year history. The only previous time the No. 1 seed claimed the title was in the inaugural season in 2000 when UNLV came out victorious. * SDSU improves to 7-5 all-time in MWC tournament history (4-2 at Pepsi Center) and 21-18 all-time in Division I tourneys. * SDSU earns its first NCAA tournament bid since 2002 and its second under head coach Steve Fisher. The Aztecs make their fifth NCAA Div. I tournament appearance and their eighth overall. * A Steve Fisher-led team advances to the NCAAs for the ninth time and the gains a postseason berth for the 12th time. u SDSU advances to a postseason tournament for the third time in the last five seasons. * SDSU wins its 24th game of the year, its most in the Div. I era. The Aztecs tie the all-time school record for victories. SDSU also has tallied 24 wins on three previous occasions (most recently 1966-67). * SDSU claims three victories over Wyoming in the same season for the first time. * The Aztecs improve to 2-1 all-time against Wyoming in the MWC championships and 5-2 in conference tournament action. u SDSU has won six straight, eight of the last nine (8-1), 16 of the last 18 (16-2), 18 of the last 21 (18-3) and 20 of the last 24 (20-4).

PLAYER NOTES
Marcus Slaugther (Tournament MVP; All-Tournament Team) - Scored in double figures for the 51st time in 56 games... Posted his third consecutive double-double in the MWC tourney and the 29th of his career... Set the conference record for rebounds in a MWC tournament with 46 in three games, surpassing Andrew Bogut's 45 last season... Has made at least nine free throws 11 times this season... Slaughter is the second tournament MVP in school history joining Randy Holcomb in 2002... This is the second consecutive time Slaughter has been named to the all-tournament team... Slaughter joins Anthony Watson (WAC) as the only players to be named to an all-tourney squad twice.

Kyle Spain - Posted his second career double-double with 11 points and 12 boards... The 12 rebounds is a career-best... Spain's effort is his third double-digit rebound game.

Brandon Heath (All-Tournament Team) - Scored double figures for the 24th consecutive game... Heath's game-high of 22 points was his 38th career 20-point game... This is Heath's first all-tournament team honor.

TEAM NOTES
* The Aztecs played in their third overtime game in a conference tournament and their first since 1998 when they defeated Wyoming in the WAC tournament, 60-57. SDSU is now 2-1 in conference tournament overtime games.

* SDSU improved to 2-0 on the season in overtime games with both wins coming against Wyoming.

* Heath and Slaughter are the seventh and eighth players to be named to an all-tournament team in school history.
