TEAM NOTES
* San Diego State has now won 10 of its last 11, 12 of its last 14 and 14 of its last 17 games. The Aztecs' magic number shrinks to one to secure a tie for the MWC crown and two to clinch the title outright.
* The 11 conference wins is the most since the 1984-85 NCAA Tournament team went 11-5 in the Western Athletic Conference. The 11th league victory ties the most conference victories in 85 seasons of Aztec basketball.
* The Aztecs have won two straight in the series and are now 2-3 all-time versus TCU.
* At one point during the second half, the Aztecs trailed by 11 points. The 11-point rally is the second-largest deficit overcome for a victory by the 2005-06 SDSU squad. Earlier this year, the Aztecs rallied from 13 points down at Utah to win the game... SDSU has overcome three double-figure deficits this season winning two of them.
* Tonight marks the third time this season the Aztec have trailed at the half and won the game. The last time SDSU trailed after one period and won was Jan. 14 vs. UNLV when the Aztecs rallied from a six-point halftime deficit and posted a 83-67 win.
* San Diego State drained 10 three-pointers tonight marking the fourth time its has accomplished the feat.
* SDSU improves to 11-2 since Marcus Slaughter, Brandon Heath and Mohamed Abukar have in the starting lineup.
* The Aztec starting frontcourt combined for 36 points (12-22 FG) and 16 rebounds. Meanwhile, the starting backcourt went 11-for-21 from the field (7-13 3FG) en route to 33 points and 10 assists.
* The Aztecs are 13-2 this season when Slaughter and Heath combine for at least 33 points in a game.
PLAYER NOTES
* Brandon Heath has made multiple 3-point baskets in eight of his last nine games and 14 out of his last 16 contests... Heath passed Bob Brady (1,389 points) for fourth all-time on San Diego State's career scoring chart. Heath now has 1,402 points in three-plus seasons on Montezuma Mesa... Heath posted his 17th straight double-figure scoring a game. That mark is a career best... The junior guard recorded his 71st career double-figure scoring game... Heath's six baskets from beyond the arc ties is a new career high... Heath scored 20-plus points for the 35th time in his career. He has scored at least 20 points in 17 of his last 28 games dating back to last season.
* Marcus Slaughter scored in double figures for the 12th straight game and is six rebounds short of tying former Aztec Aerick Sanders (686 rebounds) for seventh all-time on SDSU's career rebounding list.
* John Sharper recorded his third straight game with mulitple treys and his 19th in his last 23 contests... Sharper has made nine of his last 14 three-point field goals... Of Sharper's 73 field goals this season, 63 have come from behind the arc.
* Richie Williams matched his career high with six assists tonight, a figure he has reached on five previous occasions... Tonight marked the freshman's fifth double-figure scoring effort.
* Mohamed Abukar reached double-figures for the eighth consecutive time tonight.
