* WITH THE VICTORY, SAN DIEGO STATE HAS...
- San Diego State rebounded from Saturday's loss to Utah with a victory. The Aztecs have responded from their last five losses with a victory in its next game and is 8-1 following their last nine games dating back to last season.
- The Aztecs have won nine of their last 10, 11 of their last 13 games and 13 of their last 16 games.
- San Diego State has won five consecutive road games, its longest winning streak of the Division I era (36 seasons) and longest since winning six straight road games from Feb. 9, 1968 to Jan. 16, 1970.
- San Diego State has won five straight conference road games, its longest winning streak of the Division I era and longest since winning seven straight conference road games from Jan. 20, 1968 to Dec. 7, 1968.
- San Diego State sweeps the season series from UNLV for the first time in school history. This marked the 12th time the teams have played twice during the regular season and the first time SDSU has swept the season series.
- This is the 38th meeting between SDSU and UNLV and this marks the first time the Aztecs have ever defeated the Rebels in consecutive meetings.
- San Diego State is now 10-28 lifetime against the Rebels, with six of those victories coming during the Steve Fisher era.
- The Aztecs claim just their fourth victory over UNLV in Las Vegas (1979, 2002, 2005 and 2006). This is the first time San Diego State has won consecutive games against UNLV In Las Vegas and three of SDSU's four all-time wins at UNLV have come during the Steve Fisher era.
- San Diego State claimed its 10th league victory of the season, its highest conference victory total since the 1984-85 team finished 11-5 in the WAC. The Aztecs own a two-game lead with four games to play in trying to claim its first regular-season conference title since the 1977-78 team finished 11-3 and tied for the PCAA title. The Aztecs last outright title came in 1976-77 when the Aztecs posted a 9-3 record in the PCAA. The Aztecs are one league win shy of matching the school record for most conference wins (11) set in 1977-78 and tied in 1984-85.
- The Aztecs improved to 17-7, its best record after 24 games since the 1984-85 team opened the season 19-5. In the past 20 seasons, the best 24- game record for SDSU was the 2001-02 and 2002-03 squads were 14-10.
- The 17 victories thus far are the most in a single-season since the 2001-02 NCAA Tournament team finished 21-12. The 17 wins are more than SDSU has posted in 19 of the previous 20 seasons.
* ROAD WARRIORS - As noted above, San Diego State has won five consecutive conference road games for the first time since Jan. 20, 1968-Jan. Dec. 7, 1968. The Aztecs improve to 6-4 in road games this season and have already posted the most road victories for the program since the 2001- 02 NCAA squad won six games. The last time an SDSU squad posted a .500 or better road record for a season was in 1984-85, when the Aztecs went 8-4.
San Diego State has now won its most recent visit to six MWC facilities (Brigham Young's Marriott Center, UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center, Utah's Huntsman Center, TCU's Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, Wyoming's Arena-Auditorium and Colorado State's Moby Arena).
With five victories in six road games, SDSU has matched its win total in its previous 23 road league games (5-18).
* WE'RE COMING HOME - San Diego State comes home to play TCU on Saturday night at Cox Arena. The Aztecs have an outside chance of clinching a tie for the MWC regular-season title this weekend, if all four home teams win on Saturday. An Aztec win coupled with losses by Air Force, Brigham Young and UNLV would leave SDSU three games ahead in the loss column with three games to play. The Aztecs are 10-2 at home this season.
