SDSU Women's Hoops Looks For Third-Straight Win Thursday Against Cal Poly

-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team will look to put together its first three-game win streak since the 2003-04 season, when Cal Poly comes to town for a Thursday night non-conference contest.

The Aztecs are coming off their biggest victory of the season, as Jennifer Layton's layup at the buzzer gave SDSU a 74-73 overtime win against Wichita State on Sunday. San Diego State, which has already matched its win total from 2005-06, will face Cal Poly for the first time since 2001-02. The Mustangs are 4-3 this season with a 68-65 upset of Oregon State back in mid-November.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the second year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 238-175 in 15 seasons, while she is 157-110 in 10 campaigns at SDSU.

-Cal Poly Head Coach Faith Mimnaugh: Mimnaugh is in her 10th season at Cal Poly and owns a school record of 98-155. Her career record stands at 105-217 in 13 seasons. She is 0-2 all-time against San Diego State.

-Cal Poly Series History: Cal Poly and San Diego State meet for the eighth time and the fourth occasion in San Diego. The Aztecs have won each of the last five meetings. (Last: San Diego State def. Cal Poly, 63-54, on Nov. 16, 2001, in San Diego, Calif.).
