The Records:
After a nine-day break, the San Diego State women's basketball squad (2-3) returns to action this Sunday when it plays host to Wichita State (2-2) for a rare 1 p.m. tip-off. The Aztecs and Shockers meet for the second straight season, as the two sides faced on another in both schools' 2005-06 season opener in Wichita. The Shockers claimed the victory a year ago in an offensive battle, which saw the two sides combine for 170 points and 77 trips to the free-throw line.

The Wichita State contest begins a month-long stay for SDSU at Cox Arena, as it rounds out non-conference action with six games in December, capped by the two-day San Diego Surf `N Slam.

SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns:
Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the second year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 237-175 in 15 seasons, while she is 156-110 in 10 campaigns at SDSU.

Wichita State Head Coach Jane Albright:
Albright is in her fourth season at Wichita State and owns a school record of 31-55. Her career record stands at 380-272 in 23 seasons. She is 2-1 all-time against San Diego State (1-1 at Northern Illinois).

Wichita State Series History:
SDSU and Wichita State meet for the second time and the first time in San Diego, Calif. The Shockers own a 1-0 advantage in the all-time series (Last: Wichita State def. San Diego State, 91-79, on Nov. 9, 2005, in Wichita, Kan.).
