LOS ANGELES - San Diego State completed the second day of the USC Diving Invitational at the McDonald's Swim Center on the USC campus in Los Angeles Saturday afternoon with a pair of athletes competing in the platform diving event. Divers from the host school as well as Hawai'i, UCLA and Air Force also participated in the meet at which no team scores were recorded.
The platform diving consisted of five dives with no preliminaries since only 11 divers competed, including two Aztecs.
SDSU freshman Amy Freeberg finished seventh (186.70 points) in the competition while teammate Kristen Maurer was 10th with 159.15 points. USC's Kimberly Popp was the event winner with 260.40 points.
The entire San Diego State swimming and diving team returns to action on Friday (Nov. 10) when it host conference rival Brigham Young at 1:00 p.m. at the Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center.
