With the Victory...
• Steve Fisher matches his all-time best start to a season at 7-0. He previously was 7-0 in 1996-97 and guided his team to the postseason NIT championship.
• Fisher tied former SDSU coach Smokey Gaines for the third all-time for victories at San Diego State with 112.
• San Diego State has equaled its second-best start in program history. The 1982-83 and 1971-72 teams both got off to a 7-0 start and both finished with an 18-10 record. Only the 1984-85 team had a better start at 8-0.
• The Aztecs have won seven straight and 13 in a row in the regular-season (not including the NCAA Tournament loss to Indiana). In addition, SDSU now has a nine-game regular-season non-conference winning streak and an eight-game regular-season road/neutral unbeaten streak.
• Overall, San Diego State has won 13 of its last 14 (13-1) and 23 of its last 26 (23-3) in games dating back to Jan. 11, 2006.
• The Aztecs extend their winning streak to three games over the Gauchos (two straight in Santa Barbara) and lead 54-34 in the all-time series.
• With the margin of victory being four points, the Aztecs improve to 13-4 in games decided by eight points or less since the beginning of the 2005-06 season.

Player Notes
* Brandon Heath, with his game-high 29 points, extended his consecutive double-figure scoring streak to 32, tying Zack Jones for the school's all-time lead... The 29 points is a season-best for the senior from Los Angeles... Heath's nine field goals are a season high.

* Mohamed Abukar posted his sixth double-figure scoring game of the season with 14 points... His nine rebounds fell one shy of his career-high of 10 vs. Seattle Pacific.

* Jerome Habel recorded his second double-digit scoring performance of the season in just his third career game... The junior also had seven rebounds, the third time he has had seven or more rebounds in a game.

* Lorrenzo Wade pitched in 13 points off the bench for this fifth game with at least 10 points at SDSU... He tied his career high with his six field goals.

* Richie Williams dished out five assists in the game, marking the fourth time this season he has had at least five assists in a game.
