SAN DIEGO -
Head coach Steve Fisher
On the game:

"We had a really really good first half where our defense created offense. We made every shot we took and looked excellent. We did all the things really good teams do. In the second half, we couldn't make a shot and I think that affected us from the neck up. We didn't guard as well and we told them that in the locker room. We have to play 40 minutes."

On the offense:
"We are a team that is going to score points, we are going to make baskets. I'm not concerned about missing shots as long as they are good shots. I thought we did a better job of how we guarded individually and collectively.

On Kyle Spain:
"Kyle is an aggressive player and I think that is infectious. If you don't put a body on him you will get a tip dunk. We have all seen what he can do. We have seen it since the first game of his freshman season."

Senior guard Brandon Heath
On the game:

"Coming into tonight it was definitely a game we expected to win. They were short-handed tonight. They were missing one of their best players but the main focus tonight was about us. We just had to come out and do what we know we can do."

On what his team can improve on:
"We have so many guys that can score, even guys coming off of the bench. I feel if we turned it up on the defensive end, we can take our game to another level."

On what the team needs to focus on after tonight's game:
"Taking care of the ball is No. 1 and defending and just making sure guys aren't satisfied being 6-0. Make sure guys aren't content with where we ar eat right now. We have got a long way to go. We have to stay humble and keep moving forward."

Sophomore forward Kyle Spain
On playing with a sore foot:

"I'm not fully recovered, but (the foot) is fine. I tried to play through it (the pain) so I can help my team to victory because everyone on this team is just as important."

UC Riverside interim head coach Vonn Webb
On San Diego State:

"This is an incredible team. They have done a great job recruiting and getting players in. I know coach Fisher. I knew it was just a matter of time before he got the players in here that he was used to having at Michigan. These guys are really on par to be one of the best teams on the West Coast this year, without a doubt."
