AZTECS VISIT WYOMING FOR FINAL ROAD MATCH OF THE SEASON
*** San Diego State volleyball makes it final regular-season road trip of the season when it visits Laramie on Saturday, Nov. 4, to take on the Wyoming Cowgirls. That match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. (MST) start and will be played at the UniWyo Sports Complex.
*** Following that contest, the team will return to San Diego where it will play its final three conference matches of the 2006 campaign.

SERIES RECORD
*** SDSU has lost just five times in its previous 31 meetings with the University of Wyoming to lead the series, 26-5. All five Aztec losses in the series have come in Laramie.
*** The teams first played each other during the 1984 season and have met annually (with the exception of 1998) on a home-and-home basis since 1990. Over the past three seasons, each team has won on its home floor. SDSU is 8-5 in matches played in Laramie, last winning there during the 2002 campaign.
*** The Aztec defeated the Cowgirls in three games in Peterson Gym in early October.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
*** Wyoming enters the week with an overall record of 9-12 and a league mark of 3-7. The Cowgirls ended a seven-match losing streak with a 3-0 victory at Air Force last Saturday. The Cowgirls will host UNLV on Thursday (Nov. 2) prior to facing SDSU.
*** UW's offense is led by outside hitter Rachel Smith, whose average of 3.68 kills per game ranks sixth in the MWC this week. Outside hitter Annie Meyers is averaging 3.01 kpg and 2.84 digs per game. Freshman libero Micah Lines averages 3.77 digs per game while teammate Andrea Seele is averaging 1.16 blocks per game.

HEAD COACH Mark Warner
*** San Diego State head coach Mark Warner is in his 12th season at the helm of the Aztec women's program. His career record over that span stands at 187-175 (.517).
*** Over the past 11 years, Warner has led his teams to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths and a Western Athletic Conference championship. His tutelage has produced 15 all-conference players and he was named the Mountain West Conference co-coach of the year in 2002.

MOST RECENTLY
*** Last week, San Diego State won a pair of Mountain West Conference matches at home.
*** On Friday (Oct. 27), the Aztecs defeated New Mexico in three games (30-24, 30-27, 30-22). Melanie Greene led the way with 14 kills and 11 digs while Audra Dent contributed 13 kills. SDSU hit .362 for the match while the Lobos had a .302 percentage.
*** Two days later (Sunday, Oct. 29), SDSU recorded a 3-1 win over TCU (30-26, 30-28, 23-30, 30-25). Greene again led all players with 19 kills while middle blocker Lindsey Mahan chipped in with 14. Aime Cordeiro also had 19 digs for the Aztecs.

*** She needs to record 179 more digs to reach the number-two spot currently occupied by Juliana Cezar (1,369 digs; 1993-96).
*** Cordeiro's 2006 season total is 447 digs, the fourth-most ever in a season by an Aztec.
*** Cordeiro continues to lead the Mountain West Conference in digs both in all matches at 5.45 dpg and she is second in league-game only statistics (5.14 dpg).
*** In this week's NCAA statistics, Cordeiro is ranked 30th in the nation among Division I players in digs.

WAHLIN ON THE BLOCK

GREENE LEADS OFFENSE
*** Melanie Greene's 19 kills against TCU tied for the most by an Aztec in 2006 and was her second 19-kill effort of the season. She also had 19 kills at Oregon State in early September.

*** Her 15 digs in the match at Colorado State on Oct. 14 was a career best.

CASTILLO MOVIN' UP
*** Setter Kristin Castillo enters the week with a total of 1,945 assists in her three seasons as an Aztec and has moved into the number-six spot on the San Diego State career list.
*** She needs 294 more to take over the number-five spot currently occupied by Melissa Stokes (2,239 from 1986-88).
*** With 55 more assists, she will become only the sixth SDSU player to reach the 2,000 plateau in that stat category.

DARNALL COMES BACK
*** After missing three matches (at Colorado State, at Utah, at BYU) with an ankle sprain, freshman Stephanie Darnall came back to record double figures in kills in each of last weekend's two contests.
