MISSION BAY, SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State crew team had a great showing at the San Diego Fall Classic on Sunday, finishing first, second and third in the Varsity Eight race and taking first in the Novice race.
"Overall we had an amazing day," head coach Jennifer Zebroski said. "The success was a tribute to our depth and hard work."
The Varsity "A" boat easily won its race with a first-place time of 19 minutes, 42 seconds. The Varsity "B" boat was second at 20:13, followed by the "C" boat in third (20:58).
In the Novice race, the "A" boat won its second consecutive race with a time of 21:48, 33 seconds ahead of second-place Orange Coast College (22:21). The "B" boat took fifth (22:46) and the "C" boat was sixth (22:56).
