FORT COLLINS, Colo. - San Diego State defeated Air Force, but dropped matches against Colorado State and New Mexico at a triple dual meet hosted by CSU in Fort Collins Saturday afternoon. The Aztecs swam to a 161-138 victory over the Falcons while dropping a 168-131 decision to the Lobos and a 185-103 result to the host school. It was the team's second meet in less than 24 hours as they participated in a double dual at Northern Colorado late Friday afternoon.

With the Saturday's outcomes, SDSU's record stands at 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the MWC as it is off to one of their best starts in recent years.

She also swam the opening leg of the 400 free relay (along with Ana Dowell, Kyla Power and Kimberlee Frith) that captured a second-place finish in a time of 3:40.51.

Elsewhere, freshman Caitlin Atkinson finished second in the 1-meter diving with a score of 222.15 points as she followed up her first-place finishes in both diving event at SDSU's season opener two week ago. Right behind Atkinson was sophomore Kathleen Heuring (207.10) points, who had captured both diving events in Friday's meet at Northern Colorado.

SDSU's other second-place result on the day went to Katie Smith, who went 2:11.32 in the 200 backstroke. She also took third in the 100 back in 1:00.16 while Kimberlee Frith earned an individual third-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:56.84).
