SAN DIEGO - A $10K Field Goal Challenge highlights the festivities at the USAA Fleet Week Football Classic during San Diego State's football game against Air Force on Saturday. The game, part of the second annual classic dedicated to serving the military and their families, will kick off at 5 p.m.
There will be a pre-game ceremony to honor the U.S. military, which will feature a fly-over and parachutists entering Qualcomm Stadium, landing in the center of the field.
At halftime, the San Diego State band will team with the U.S. Marine and U.S. Navy bands to play a tribute to the wounded military at Balboa Hospital and Camp Pendleton.
In the third quarter, two lucky winners will compete to see who can kick the first field goal to win $10,000 in the USAA Bank Field Goal Challenge. Fans can stop by the USAA booth to register for the event. The free registration ends at halftime.
Visitors to the USAA booth can also receive a free commemorative SDSU vs. Air Force rally towel.
In addition to the Fleet Week Classic festivities, the USAA will provide 300 free game tickets for military personnel and their families.
General admission tickets can be purchased at www.goaztecs.com, by calling (619) 283-SDSU or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office Window E at Qualcomm Stadium. Military personnel, retirees and family members can obtain tickets from Navy MWR and Marine Corps MCCS ticket outlets.
