IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 29 San Diego State men's soccer team lost to No. 21 UC Irvine via a goal in the last minute of double-overtime, 2-1, in Irvine on Saturday night. Playing their fourth nationally ranked opponent in five games, the Aztecs fell to 7-5-1 overall with the loss, while the Anteaters improved to 9-3-2.

Senior Andrew DiCicco tied the game at 1-1 for SDSU in the 45th minute with his fifth goal of the season. Sophomore Nick Collins sent a cross into the 12-yard line where DiCicco ripped a shot into the right corner.

Matt Murphy scored the game-winner for UC Irvine after his attempt from 25 yards out found the upper-left corner of the net with only 29 seconds remaining in the game.

Anthony Hamilton scored the Anteaters' first goal in the ninth minute off a pass from Murphy.

Aztec All-American goalkeeper Tally Hall made eight saves in the losing effort, including a spectacular stop to his left side in the first overtime to keep the game at 1-1.

DiCicco had a chance in the 60th minute but his breakaway chance was saved by the UC Irvine goalkeeper.

DiCicco and McDonald had three shots apiece to lead the SDSU offense, which finished the game with nine shots.

The Aztecs resume Pac-10 play with a match at nationally ranked Washington at 7 p.m. Friday.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Senior goalkeeper Tally Hall earned Man of the Match honors after recording eight saves in the match. Hall made a brilliant save in the first overtime to keep the game at 1-1.
