SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior Cory Segall (La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla HS) fired a 1-over-par 73 on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in a four-way tie for 23rd place during the second round of stroke play at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash. Segall carded a two-day total of 1-over 145, earning a spot among the field's top 64 golfers in the match-play phase of the tournament.

Segall, who logged an even-par 72 on Monday, will square off against Tim Feenstra of Lynden, Wash., Wednesday on the 7,061-yard Olympic Course. Feenstra shot a 3-over 147 in his first two rounds to finish in a seven-way tie for 35th place. Mitch Cohlmia (Tulsa, Okla.) and Justin Metzger (Knoxville, Tenn.), meanwhile, shared medalist honors as both players carded a two-day score of 7-under 137.

After Wednesday's single round of match play, second- and third-round matches will be played on Thursday with the quarterfinals and semifinals scheduled for Friday. The tournament concludes on Saturday with a 36-hole championship match.

The U.S. Amateur Public Links is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
