Aztecs in Tie for Sixth After Two Rounds at US Intercollegiate

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The 17th ranked San Diego State men's golf team fell victim to the rain-soaked course in the Bay Area, as they tied for sixth place with a 594 (+34) at the US Intercollegiate tournament, hosted by Stanford University, on the par-70, 6,742 yard Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif.

"We had a difficult time out there today," said head coach Ryan Donovan. "Parts of the course were soaked, making it rough to play on. But we're going to get it done tomorrow and hopefully be able to move up into the top-5 in the tournament."

Senior Josh Warthen leads all Aztec golfers in a tie for 12th after carding a 73-72--145 (+5). Following behind Warthen was senior Andrew Scott, who tied for 23rd with an 8-over 148, and sophomore Aaron Goldberg, who finished tied for 43rd with an 11-over 151.

Rounding out the rest of the starting line-up were sophomores Chad Moscovic, who in his first spring tournament this season, tied for 46th, and David Palm, who tied for 76th.

The Aztecs will conclude their regular season tournament tomorrow with the third and final round.
