SAN DIEGO - San Diego State won its third straight match with its 5-2 performance over Air Force Sunday morning at Aztec Tennis Center. The win completed a three-match sweep against Mountain West Conference rivals Colorado State, Wyoming and Air Force and improves SDSU's record to 14-6 overall and 5-1 in league action.

For the third consecutive contest, the Aztecs claimed the doubles point as they won two of three matches. SDSU's top doubles pairing of Dita Hauerlandova and Sisse Nielsen won for a fifth straight time as they defeated Kat Bushey-Christine Abayan, 9-7, while Alesya Vidov and Milana Yusupov toppled Air Force's No. 2 duo of Meghan Kiser-Lauren Wilson, 8-1, to give the Aztecs an early 1-0 lead.

In singles, Nielsen made quick work of Erika Shortridge at No. 4 as she cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win. The victory is Nielsen's fourth in a row and improves her dual-match record to 13-6 for the year.

The Aztecs took control of the match when Vidov posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over Wilson at No. 2, giving the home side a three-point cushion. Hauerlandova secured the match when she came away with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Bushey at No. 1, notching her third consecutive win.

Air Force recorded its first team point when Abayan won a three-set battle against Yusupov at No. 3 and then followed it with another three-set effort as Kelly Morgan defeated Esther Cadua at No. 5.

Then with the match already decided, Yuki Hagiwara handed SDSU its fifth team point as she ended up on the winning side of a 4-6, 6-2, 11-9 performance over Kiser at No. 6.

San Diego State will continue its league slate Friday, April 14, when it plays New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M.
