SAN DIEGO - San Diego State snapped its two-match losing streak with a 5-2 performance over conference foe Colorado State Friday afternoon at Aztec Tennis Center. With the win, the 34th-ranked Aztecs improve to 12-6 overall, including a 3-1 mark in Mountain West Conference action, while the Rams fall to 9-9 (2-3 MWC).

SDSU started the day on a positive note as it claimed the doubles point. The Aztecs' number one duo of Dita Hauerlandova and Sisse Nielsen posted an 8-2 victory over their CSU counterparts at No. 1, while Alesya Vidov and Milana Yusupov paired up to tally an 8-5 win at No. 2 to secure the point heading into singles action.

San Diego State took a 2-0 lead after Sisse Nielsen walked away with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Carla Pallares at No. 4. Colorado State, however, cut into the Aztecs' lead when Jasmin Singh recorded a straight sets win over Yuki Hagiwara at No. 6.

SDSU regained its two-point advantage after Esther Cadua broke her three-match losing skid with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-0 effort against CSU's Jessica Jones at No. 5. But once again, the Rams stayed close as Anne Andersen notched a three-set victory over Vidov at No. 2 to bring CSU within one.

With the Aztecs needing one victory to seal the win and two matches in progress at Nos. 1 and 3, Yusupov emerged with a tough 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 triumph over Lauren Stasburger at No. 3 to hand SDSU its 12th win of the year. Rounding out the contest was No. 84 Hauerlandova posting her second victory over a ranked opponent as she defeated No. 121 Emily Kirchem in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5.

San Diego State returns to the courts Saturday, April 8, as it plays host to Wyoming. The league match is slated for a noon start at Aztec Tennis Center.
