ST. GEORGE, Utah - The San Diego State women's golf team is in 14th place with a first round 329 (+41) Monday at the 20th annual, 19-team BYU Dixie Classic. The Aztecs are 30 strokes behind leader New Mexico, at the par-72, 6,151-yard Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, Utah.
Freshman Heather Wilson (Chula Vista, Calif.) leads all Aztecs after round one, carding an 80 (+8). Wilson currently stands in a tie with six other players for 32nd on the individual leaderboard. Second among SDSU golfers is freshman Maki Kamimura (West Covina, Calif.) who shot a 10-over 82 and finished the day in a tie for 50th. Junior Jamie Oliver (Los Alamitos, Calif.) fired an 11-over 83 to end day one tied in 55th place.
Rounding out the starting five for SDSU were senior Megan Mulhaupt (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) and sophomore Anna Booth (Coffs Harbour, Australia) who tied for 63rd. They both shot a 12-over 84.
UNLV's Seema Sadekar is atop the individual leaderboard at 2-under 70.
