LAS VEGAS - The San Diego State women's tennis team had its eight-match winning streak snapped Sunday as it fell to UNLV, 5-2, at Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV. Despite winning the doubles point, the Rebels won five of six singles matches to complete the upset. With the loss, the Aztecs fall to 11-5 overall and 2-1 in the Mountain West Conference.

SDSU opened the morning by taking the doubles point as a result of winning at the top two positions. Dita Hauerlandova and Sisse Nielsen used an 8-3 effort to dispose of Elena Gantcheva and Nikol Dimitrova at No. 1, while Alesya Vidov and Eliska Krausova were 8-4 winners over Claire Smith and Sharon Marin at No. 2.

However in singles play, UNLV rallied to win at every position except for No. 4 singles to post the victory. Milana Yusupov recorded the only Aztec win in singles play with her 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 performance over Cindy Treber. The victory was her sixth straight.

San Diego State returns to action March 29 as it hosts Harvard at Aztec Tennis Center. The non-conference match is set to begin at 2 p.m. PST.
