The San Diego State women's golf team is in 15th place after a rainy first round Monday at the Kitahara Fresno State Invite at the par-72, 6,004-yard Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif. The Aztecs posted a team score of 28-over 316 in the first 18 holes of the 19-team tournament, which is being led by UC Irvine's 3-under 285.

SDSU senior Heather MacRae (Dunblane, Scotland) is tied for 10th on the individual leaderboard with four other players after firing a 1-over 73. The team's only other sub-80 round came from senior Megan Mulhaupt (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.), who carded a 79, including a 37 on the front nine. Freshman Maki Kamimura (West Covina, Calif.) is just two strokes behind Mulhaupt with a first-round 81, while one stroke separates both sophomore Anna Booth (Coffs Harbour, Australia) and freshman Heather Wilson (Chula Vista, Calif.) at 83 and 84, respectively.

UC Irvine's Selanee' Henderson leads the 100-golfer field with a 5-under 67, which is three strokes better than her nearest competitor, New Mexico State's Lehua Wise, who logged a 2-under 70.

The Aztecs continue play at the Kitahara Fresno State Invite Tuesday with the second and final round, beginning just after 9 a.m.
