SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State water polo team, ranked ninth nationally in the 2006 Women's Collegiate Top 20 Water Polo Preseason Poll, will hold its annual alumni game on Saturday, Jan. 28, at noon at the Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center. Admission to the event is free.
Among those scheduled to appear are former Aztec All-Americans Holly Hartzell, Amber Prestegard, Larisa Baltgalvis-Rotsart, Rachel Scott-Ruano, Danielle Dabbaghian and Teri Mullins, along with 2005 graduates Dominique Delgado and Monica DeRosier.
This year's squad features 10 returning letterwinners, including 2005 All-America selection Rachel Serna, from a team that finished the season ranked No. 11 in the final top-20 poll.
San Diego State opens its regular season against 20th-ranked Santa Clara on Feb. 11 at the UCSD Triton Invitational, with game time set for 12:30 p.m. The two-day tournament features a strong field that includes 10 squads ranked inside the top 20 and the top two teams in the Division III preseason poll.
