SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior Markus Dickhardt (Marburg, Germany) posted victories in singles and doubles competition Saturday during the second day of the Aztec Invitational held at the Aztec Tennis Center. SDSU once again faced Arizona State in a match highlighting individual results and no team scoring.
Dickhardt picked up the Aztecs' lone singles victory of day, downing the Sun Devils' Ryan McBride in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Later in the afternoon, Dickhardt teamed with Benedikt Stronk (Berlin, Germany) to defeat the ASU doubles team of T.J. Bellama and Mike Beatty, 8-2.
In other doubles action, SDSU's Stephan Timu (Montreal, Quebec) and Robert Sabo (Rancho Mirage, Calif.) nearly rallied from a 5-2 deficit in their match against Jonathan Kinsella and Ryan McBride, before falling, 9-7.
The Aztecs will take on the Sun Devils once more on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center, slated to begin at 9 a.m.
