-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team (2-7) rounds out its non-conference schedule and the 2005 calendar year on Friday when it faces UC Davis for the second time this season at 5:30 p.m. The Aztecs and Aggies will meet in the consolation game of the two-day San Diego Surf `N Slam, as SDSU fell on Wednesday to Loyola (52-43) and UC Davis dropped a 69-54 decision to Auburn. Loyola and Auburn will meet later in the evening at 7:30 p.m. for the tournament championship.
UC Davis is 5-6 this year and is 2-3 since winning the first battle between the two schools up in Davis, Calif., back on Dec. 3, 58-36.
-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the first year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She coached the Aztecs from 1989 to 1997 and has a school record of 153-90 in nine seasons. Her 14-year head coaching record stands at 234-155.
-UC Davis Head Coach Sandy Simpson: Simpson is in his ninth year with the Aggies. He boasts a career record of 152-81, all with UC Davis.
