-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team rounds out its 2005-06 non-conference schedule by playing host to the four-team San Diego Surf `N Slam tournament, Dec. 28 and 30, at Cox Arena. The tournament, sponsored by Basketball Travelers, Inc., will be the Aztecs' first at home since the 2000 campaign. After Auburn and UC Davis play at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 28, SDSU will face Loyola College in the first-ever meeting between the two schools at 7:30 p.m. (PST).
The Aztecs will be completing a five-game homestand this week and are 2-6 on the season, while the Greyhounds are 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the first year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She coached the Aztecs from 1989 to 1997 and has a school record of 153-89 in nine seasons. Her 14-year head coaching record stands at 234-154.
-Loyola Head Coach Joe Logan: Logan is in his first year at Loyola and his first season as a head coach, posting a 5-3 overall record.
