-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team (0-5) kicks off a five-game homestand Friday night with a match-up with visiting Portland State (5-3) at 7 p.m. at Cox Arena. The Aztecs, who are still in search of their first victory of 2005-06, opened the season with four of their first five games on the road.

SDSU renews its series with Portland State after a two-year break. The Vikings travel to San Diego having won five of their first six outings of the year before dropping their last two on the road at Cal Poly and Oregon State.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the first year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She coached the Aztecs from 1989 to 1997 and has a school record of 151-88 in nine seasons. Her 14-year head coaching record stands at 232-153.

-Portland State Head Coach Charity Elliott: Elliott is in her second year at Portland State and owns a school record of 8-26. The former Charity Shira was an assistant coach under Beth Burns in 1993-94, and has a career head coaching record of 36-60.

-Portland State Series History: SDSU leads the series, 3-2, and is 2-0 in games played in San Diego (Last: Portland State def. San Diego State, 59-55, on Jan. 9, 2003 in Portland).
