Aztec Volleyball Falls In Four Games At Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - San Diego State completed its weekend road swing to the Rockies with a 3-1 (30-32, 30-26, 30-25, 30-20) loss at the hands of Colorado State in Fort Collins Saturday evening. With the win, the Rams improved to 14-7 on the year and 7-4 in the Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs, meanwhile, lost for the second straight night and saw their record fall to 14-11 overall (6-6 MWC).

Junior outside hitter Melanie Greene led SDSU with her second consecutive double-double and fourth in the team's last five outings. She finished the evening with a team-high 18 kills and also contributed 14 digs. It was Greene's 12th double-double effort of the 2005 campaign.

SDSU's Audra Dent reached the double-figure plateau in kills with 18 and also had four blocks while Lindsey Mahan hit a team-high .471 with nine kills and just one attack error.

Aztec senior Lindsey Noll led San Diego State with seven blocks while libero Aime Cordeiro led all players with 17 digs.

CSU's Dre Downs was among a group of Rams who hit double figures in kills as she had a match-high 22 while teammate Casey Bauer recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs.

San Diego State now returns home to prepare for a mid-week conference match as UNLV visits Peterson Gym on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7:00 p.m.
